What to expect from Svalbard the walkabout Polar Bear
Meet Inka, a polar bear driven South from her maternal den high on the Arctic ice. Inka seeks a new home for herself and her cubs, who patiently ride on her back during the long journey. Accompanied by Erik, a Sami gentleman from Svalbard, they have arrived on our shores with a plea for change.
Inka is the friendliest of polar bears and her cubs are super-cute too. Your guests will love meeting the Svalbard team – these puppet polar bears love a cuddle and a photo!
But there is a serious message to share as well. The bears’ friend Erik is the voice of the group, and when he’s asked why Inka has left the Arctic, he always takes the opportunity to explain the threat of climate change to wildlife habitats.
Svalbard is a powerful symbol of the Arctic. As their sea ice habitat recedes earlier in the spring and forms later in the autumn, polar bears have begun exploring areas of the human population.
We know your guests will love meeting Inka, Erik and the cubs. They’ll make some special Christmas memories, and gain some food for thought as well.
An exceptional animatronic puppet act with an important message
This theatrical presentation combines animatronic puppetry, spectacular costumes and a strong environmental message to create an experience like no other. The performers work as a team, with the puppeteers supported by Erik to maximise opportunities for the public to interact. Like any walkabout act, Svalbard helps your event reach more people and sustains the magic in between the headline performances.
Environmental Events, Family Fun-Days, Christmas Markets
Svalbard is always popular outside Santa’s Grotto, at Christmas markets, Christmas lights switch-ons, frost fairs and other seasonal events. He’s also a delightful addition to any event with an environmental message.
