The power of live, interactive performances can captivate and enchant audiences of all ages. If you’re organising a festival this Summer, investing in a walkabout act will transform your event to create a truly unforgettable experience.
Walkabout acts bring the magic off the stage and directly into the crowds, offering an exciting, personal connection that elevates an event. Here are some of the walkabout acts – and more – that are perfect for festivals of all shapes and sizes.
Musical Roaming Bands
Music is the heartbeat of any festival, and roaming bands bring it straight into the crowd. Whether it’s a New Orleans-style brass band, a lively folk troupe, or a quirky drumming ensemble, mobile musicians can interact with festival-goers, energise the atmosphere, and keep spirits high throughout the day.
The Magical Musical Bubble Bike is a quirky, eye-catching, and wonderfully fun addition to any festival. Throughout the day, Steve will pedal through the event, seizing every opportunity to hop off and create a mesmerising giant bubble show. Engaging with guests and accompanied by the charming Ziggy – a friendly animatronic puppet – this delightful act mixes and mingles effortlessly with the crowds. Bringing smiles, laughter, and fantastic photo opportunities with its spectacular bubbles, the Magical Musical Bubble Bike is perfect for adding a playful, interactive touch to your festival.
Stilt Walkers
Towering above the crowds, stilt walkers are a striking and versatile addition to any festival. Whether dressed as vibrant carnival characters, ethereal woodland creatures, or futuristic robots, they command attention and create fantastic photo opportunities. Stilt walkers are particularly effective for parades, entrance areas, and roaming performances throughout the day.
The Hot Air Balloons are a vibrant and visually spectacular walkabout performance, perfect for adding magic to any festival. Combining the charm of giant balloons with the playful energy of stilt-walkers in colourful costumes, this lively act captivates audiences of all ages. A beautifully designed ground-based float, complete with live music, leads the way and sets the scene with an atmosphere of celebration and wonder. Immersive and highly interactive, this parade-style performance draws festival-goers into the heart of the spectacle, transforming any festival into an unforgettable moment of joy and enchantment.
Catering Food and Drink Vans
Of course, no festival experience is complete without delicious food and drink. Alongside the entertainment, we can help source a range of high-quality catering vans – from artisan coffee trucks and gourmet street food to craft beer bars and cocktail caravans. A vibrant food and drink offering keeps guests happy, energised, and coming back for more.
Woody’s Ice Cream is a traditional soft scoop ice cream cart that is available to hire for local events within North Yorkshire. It’s the perfect addition for your upcoming Summer festival. Packed with flavour, the five ice cream flavours are made locally in Yorkshire and come complete with various cones and toppings.
Living Statues
Living statues add an element of surprise and intrigue to festivals. Audiences are often mesmerised by the incredible stillness of these performers – until they suddenly spring to life! With costumes ranging from classical figures to quirky characters, living statues are perfect for providing elegant, whimsical, or humorous moments across the festival site.
Comedy Characters
Nothing brings a smile quicker than a spontaneous encounter with a hilarious walkabout performer. Our comedy characters engage directly with audiences, offering witty banter, improvisation, and clever skits. They are perfect for keeping the atmosphere lively and making sure festival-goers are laughing from start to finish.
Circus Acts
For an extra dash of daring and spectacle, circus acts are always crowd-pleasers. Think acrobats flipping through the air, jugglers impressing with their speed and skill, or fire performers lighting up the night. Our circus performers can work as pop-up shows or integrate into walkabout performances, adding a thrilling element to your event.
Versatile circus performer Cirque Mike showcases four distinguished circus disciplines: Cyr wheel, juggling, spinning cube, and duo acrobatics. Each skill can be adapted to suit any theme or event. His rare and dynamic talent shines across a variety of shows and settings, earning him widespread acclaim for his adaptability and expertise.
Puppetry and Giant Creatures
From larger-than-life puppets to fantastical creatures roaming the fields, these walkabout acts create a real sense of wonder. Whether it’s a majestic dragon, a cheeky dinosaur, or a group of mischievous fairies, puppetry acts are fantastic for adding a storytelling element to your festival, thrilling both children and adults alike.
Bring the prehistoric world to life at your festival with The Jurassic Puppets – an interactive walkabout performance like no other. These incredible dinosaur puppets engage and entertain festival-goers through improvised encounters. Test your bravery against two hungry Velociraptors, feel the thrill of standing just inches from a towering 20-foot T-Rex, and dodge the giant horns of a life-sized Triceratops! Immersive, thrilling, and unforgettable, The Jurassic Puppets offer a truly unique spectacle, creating stunning, living fossil experiences that will captivate audiences of all ages.
Other Roaming Themed Acts
Themed walkabout performers are a wonderful way to tie your entertainment into your festival’s overall look and feel. Whether you’re aiming for a medieval fair, a tropical beach party, a steampunk adventure, or a winter wonderland, our roaming themed acts will immerse your guests in a fully realised world of imagination.
Bring a burst of colour and charm to your festival with The Flower People. Dressed in stunning natural arrangements, these quirky characters look, feel, and even smell like real flowers.
