Street performers have been fascinating audiences for centuries, combining incredible skill and unmatched entertainment that leaves lasting memories. Their shows captivate, inspire, and surprise, turning everyday spaces into moments of magic. But what are the different types of street performers?
This article shares the mesmerising variety available, from circus acts and comedy to magicians and music, as well as suitable street performers for hire from Covent Garden Entertainment, so you can elevate your next event and make it a truly unforgettable experience.
Circus Acts
Circus acts are one of the most popular forms of street performance, bursting with energy, diversity, and creating a spectacle that keeps audiences on the edge of their proverbial seats! They often include a range of tricks and stunts, such as high-flying acrobatics, contortion, tightrope walking, juggling and balancing displays, unicycling, and hula hooping, striking the perfect balance of fun, awe, and variety. Circus performances are great for enticing spectators of all ages, adding wonder and excitement to any event.

Fire Performers
Few street acts are as dramatic and eye-catching as fire performers, particularly when illuminated in the dark. The dynamic mix of danger and beauty makes for heart-stopping and enthralling performances, whether it’s fire-breathing, eating, juggling, or fire poi. These acts immediately capture attention and showcase remarkable control and artistry.

Magicians
Nothing quite compares to the intrigue of a magician and their tricks. With a deck of cards, a coin, or simply the power of suggestion, these performers can transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. While other acts dazzle with physical feats and stunts, magicians challenge our perception of reality and what is real. With sprinkles of mystery, humour, charm, and versatility, magician hire is a great way to astonish guests and provide a talking point that keeps the magic alive well beyond the show’s end.

Music & Dance Acts
Music and dance are an absolute staple of street performance, bringing rhythm, excitement, and creating a buzz that gets audiences clapping, singing, and even joining in on the dance floor.
